Netflix, the DVD-by-mail rental giant, is about to invade your home and make you even lazier. Netflix has teamed with LG Electronics to produce a Netflix branded set-top box that will stream movies and other content directly into your living room. No more shall I walk to the mail box!

There are already a few set-top boxes on the market that show some promise, the Apple TV and the open source Linux based MythTV , but to me the interesting item is that the Internet is quickly becoming just another commodity. In American cites today we no longer wonder at the electricity that runs our every appliance as our grandparents did, and soon I think we will just utilize the Internet in just that way. My children will not talk about the net in a manner that denotes reverence or awe. It will just be the mechanism that delivers the content they seek or where they play their games or where they work.

The interesting site of the day: Flickrleech. Sure, I can admit it, I’m an addict. Flickr can easily consume hours of my night or weekend if I let it, but this is ridiculous. Flick Leech is a great way to view your favorite stream or search Flickr, or just play with the Flickr Interestingness feature without paging.
